Father to Mike Jr. was Mitchell John Frankovich the adopted son of actor/comedian Joe E. Brown. M.J. became the producer of films like “Bob and Carol and Ted and Alice” and “The Shootist,” made vice president in charge of production for Columbia, and later awarded the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award in recognition of his “varied and extensive record of humanitarian activities.”
In the early 80’s, as president of Los Angeles Coliseum Commission, he helped bring the Olympic Games and the Raiders football team to Los Angeles.

Mike Frankovich Jr. was a man who contributed considerably to TV, and the Movie industry. He also created several comic book characters published by AC Comics including Rayda and Dawn Hunter. One of his last contributions was to “The Lloyd Haynes Story.”
He was the son of American-born producer Mitchell John Frankovich and British-born silent screen star Binnie Barnes. He had an advantageous and enviable upbringing divided between England and America and spent most of his life traveling the world.
The summer before Mike’s death in 2007 we met for lunch, and he suggested I write a book about Lloyd. Writing a book was a feat I didn’t take seriously at the time. However, he wrote his thoughts down about Lloyd in case I changed my mind.
